What is TPACK?

TPACK stands for Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge. This framework attempts to explain the "complex interplay of three primary forms of knowledge: Content Knowledge, Pedagogical Knowledge and Technological Knowledge." (http://www.tpck.org) At the heart of this dynamic interplay is TPACK. This is the referred to as the "sweet spot" of teaching; where all three combine to create the best possible blend of all three areas of knowledge. When done correctly, all three elements work together to create the best possible outcome.
See how I used the TPACK framework to develop my unit by identifying the Technology (Ning/Video Studio and software), coupled with a change in Pedagogy (Immersion/Student-centered/Indirect-teaching) to foster a deeper understanding of the content (Digital Reputation).

How I Used theTPACK Framework to Create the Total PACKage
Since TPACK is something that is best done visually, I decided to work within the understood framework in order to get a clearer picture of how this unit would best fit the model. I took the diagram and built the entire unit within the TK, CK, PK sections and merged them together to come up with what I believe are the most critical TPACK activities. Creating the model helped solidify for me the elements that were needed and those that were not. I was able to deal with the TK, CK, and PK sections independently while laying out the lessons for the unit and each time I added an element, I was forced to rethink all of the other areas that it affected. Through this "push-pull" exercise I was able to build, what I believe is a true representation of the TPACK philosophy. Below is the diagram that I used to build the unit.
